❓ How do I create a new session?
To create a new session, simply open the TabSplit app and choose "Start New Tab". A unique session code will be generated for you to share with your friends.
🔍 Why isn't my receipt scanning correctly?
For best results, ensure your receipt is well-lit, flat, and in focus. Avoid shadows and crumpled receipts. If issues persist, you can always manually edit or add items after the scan.
➕ How do I add or remove people from a session?
As the session creator (admin), you can add new participants via the "Add People" option. To remove someone, press the X beside their name. Items previously assigned to a removed person will be reallocated to the unassigned tab.
✏️ Can I edit an item's name or price?
Yes! If you are the session creator (admin), you can tap on any item to edit its name, quantity, or price. All changes will be reflected in real-time for everyone in the session.
🔗 My real-time updates aren't working. What should I do?
Ensure you have a stable internet connection. If you're on Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data or vice versa. Sometimes, simply closing and re-opening the app can re-establish the connection. If problems persist, please contact support.
🔒 What are "Admin Controls"?
The first person to create a TabSplit session is automatically designated as the admin. The admin has special privileges like editing all items, adding/removing people, and setting the tip amount and split type, ensuring a smooth experience for complex bills.
💡 How does tip splitting work?
As the session admin, you can set a tip amount and choose between 'Even' (tip split equally among all participants) or 'Proportional' (tip split based on the value of items each person is assigned).
